Savage Axis is the most affordable model in the family of Savage bolt carbines. However, it is a modern and practical weapon with a number of features and advantages.
One of the features of Savage carbines is the technology of stacking the receiver in the box - "pillar - bedding". This technology involves the insertion of large-sized bushings in the places where the receiver is fixed to reduce the specific pressure on the bed.
The ergonomic bed in the Savage Axis carbine is made of high-strength plastic that is not sensitive to temperature fluctuations and moisture. For comfortable holding and greater control of the weapon during shooting, special notches are applied to the handle and forend.
Locking occurs according to the traditional scheme for Savage carbines - for a steel receiver with two combat stops and a "floating" bolt face.
The barrel is made of carbon steel with a special matte coating, thanks to which its service life is significantly increased.
Modification of Axis SR and ХР is a weapon with a barrel with a thread for a sound moderator / dgk, and an installed optical sight.
